Career
Caswell Cooke has diverse interests and career pursuits and has applied tireless efforts to each and every one of his projects. He is serving his fifth term (10 years) on the Westerly Town Council. In doing so, he has inspired a younger demographic of voter to follow town politics, get involved in issues, and vote. He has been co-owner of Seafood Haven Restaurant, a popular shoreline eatery, since 1993. He runs Caswell Cooke Productions; as a publicist he has arranges TV and radio appearances and books national headliners.

Caswell led the efforts to resurrect the Misquamicut Business Association 11 years ago. He serves as Executive Director of the MBA, handling finances, fundraising and membership development. Caswell’s efforts in Misquamicut have dramatically improved the physical appearance of that community with plants, signage, a clock and a street maintenance crew. He has invigorated the beach community to work together and spearheaded numerous large-scale events to attract tourists in the summer as well as shoulder seasons. Through his unbridled ambition, the MBA runs events such as a Spring Festival, Fall Festival, fireworks displays, music festivals, classic car cruise nights, and drive-in movies. His work to establish the Misquamicut Music Festival earned a “Starlight Award” from the South County Tourism Council. He organizes Town Blues on Beach concerts and Monday Night Jams.

Community

He is a lead singer and keyboard player of the Beach Band and was featured in the Men of Westerly Calendar, which raised over $10,000 for local charities.
