Career
Benjamin Wood has owned Caliente Mexican Grill, located at the Kingstown Emporium since 2005, and Burger Shack, also located there, since 2009. Ben has elevated the standards of “fast food” and created two iconic eateries known for the freshest ingredients and highest of standards. He creates a team rather than a staff and treats all as family. He sponsors management in leadership training and social media training. He is a mentor and encourages all staff to become leaders within the community. Ben’s latest venture is Wildwood Catering Company, which created more jobs and brought quality catering to the area. His main goal was to provide another healthy option for people in southern Rhode Island by offering fresh, creative and innovative foods and inspiring others to be wild. Ben and his staff have given back to the community.

Community
Benjamin helped to raise money during the holidays and donated grocery gift certificates to eight families. Ben works with URI students to help with various charity events, including Cystic Fibrosis and the Matty Fund. He has reduced the carbon footprint of the facility and planted a garden that includes composting and recycling the fry oil.

Benjamin is married to Jessica Wood, and has two children, Eli (5) and Brody (1).
