Career

While attending high school student in Middlefield, CT, Mark worked in an Italian restaurant and learned all aspects of customer service. As a student at UConn Business School, he centered his school projects on the concept of starting and operating his own restaurant. He graduated with a Business Degree and took employment at David Burke’s Prime at Foxwoods Casino to gain more experience. In 2010, he and a partner opened Casa Della Luce, a new Italian restaurant in Westerly. In a very short time, the restaurant has earned many awards including Favorite Restaurant 2010 by The Day, first place at the Chowder Cook Off sponsored by the Rotary Club of Westerly, Westerly’s Best Pasta, awarded by Wood River Health Services, and Best Use of Regional Ingredients at the Cabin Fever Festival. Through his passion and energy, Mark creates a fun and caring working environment that encourages personal growth. He mentors youth staff and encourages scholastic achievement. As a young and successful entrepreneur, he is an inspiration to his staff.

Mark is a generous supporter of the community through donations of gift certificates and food for fundraising events of the Frank Olean Center, Chariho Rotary Club, Westerly-Pawcatuck Chamber of Commerce, Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center Cabin Fever, and Westerly Rotary Club.
