Jessica has made great strides at bringing the Block Island Tourism Council to the cutting edge of technology. She coordinated the construction of an entirely new website that helps attract visitors to Block Island and tracks data for targeted marketing efforts. She recently developed a mobile website. She updates the Tourism Council’s Facebook and Twitter accounts regularly, further enabling visitors to get the information they need to make an informed decision when considering a vacation destination. Jessica has built a bridge of communication, and solidified the Tourism Council’s relationship with other tourism districts in the state, as well as the current and former Governors of Rhode Island. Jessica’s job requires she attend many meetings on the mainland, many of which are held in early morning hours. Due to the ferry schedule, she is often forced to leave the island, and her family, the night before and stay overnight. Sacrifices such as these are difficult, but she recognizes the importance of face-to-face contact with colleagues to ensure she can advocate for the best interests of Block Island. Known for her strong work ethic, positive attitude and professionalism, Jessica has created economic vitality for the community she serves.
