Career
Bethany earned her Bachelor’s Degree in 2003 from Rhode Island College in Communications and Public Relations. In her professional career at Washington Trust, she has been able to focus on two things that she finds so gratifying: developing relationships with new and existing customers and giving back to the community that has given her so much. Responsible for the performance and development of 11 employees, Bethany finds great satisfaction in helping seasoned employees find new ways to grow professionally. A testament to that dedication came at the end of 2011, when her branch was recognized for Top Producing Head Teller, Top Producing Assistant Teller, and Top Producing Teller bank-wide. Also recognized for 2011 was the fact that the Narragansett branch had the third highest customer service rating in the company. Bethany is also tasked with the development of asset and deposit growth in the Narragansett market. Through this endeavor, she has been able to get to know many of the businesses in our area. One of the mottos of the Washington Trust Co., “Trusted Advisor,” is something that she takes to heart.

Community
Growing up in South Kingstown, Bethany had the values of community service instilled at a young age. A lifetime Girl Scout, she earned her Gold Award (Girl Scout Equivalent to the Eagle Scout) her senior year in high school. She still volunteers with the Girl Scouts to this day. Since 2008, Bethany has been mentoring students through South Kingstown CARES. She and her current mentee have been meeting weekly for the past four years. She counts this as one of the most rewarding experiences she has ever been a part of. Bethany serves on the board of directors for South Kingstown CARES and is the chair for their annual Adult Spelling Bee. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Narragansett Chamber of Commerce where she co-chairs the membership committee.
