Kristin Urbach is the Executive Director of the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce, one of Rhode Island’s leading business membership organizations that includes Quonset Business Park, which employs 12,000 people from over 200 businesses. She also serves as the Treasurer of the Rhode Island Business Coalition. She is a strong advocate for businesses of all sizes, and designed and executed the Chamber’s Take it Outside and Business Technical Assistance grants during the past year.
Recently, the NK Chamber of Commerce received a Real Jobs RI grant for their WindWinRI offshore wind career pathway training system to expand their program and to host an RI Offshore Wind Supply Chain symposium.
“Partnerships such as WindWinRI are creating vibrant, collaborative pathways to educate and connect students with emerging career opportunities in the clean energy sector,” says Nicholas S. Ucci, Rhode Island Energy Commissioner. “Initiatives like this one are critical if Rhode Island is to capture more than its fair share of the economic opportunities driven by President Biden’s goal of developing 30 gigawatts of offshore wind resources by 2030.”
