Rhode Island’s growing craft beer scene isn’t quite as small as it used to be – and thanks to a new delivery service, soon it will be more connected than ever. “The spark for BrewBox ignited during my travels, particularly a beer tour in Belgium, where my curiosity and appreciation for craft beer flourished,” shares beer enthusiast Bruno DaCosta. Seeking a way to curate a brewery pilgrimage of sorts without the journey, he created the state’s first beer subscription box, set to kick off in April.
For subscribers, the process is simple: sign up by choosing a preferred plan, available in boxes of six, 12, or 16 cans, and then browsing the monthly roster of ales and lagers, which are delivered right to your doorstep. A growing list of partners so far includes Apponaug Brewing, Narragansett Beer, and Shaidzon Beer Co., and DaCosta aims to have 10 when BrewBox launches.
“Parallel to my love for craft beer, the communal aspect of traveling deeply resonated with me,” says DaCosta, who’s equally passionate about collaborating with local businesses, providing an outlet for them to expand their exposure and reach, getting cans into the hands of customers who may have never ventured out to their brick-and-mortar. “BrewBox seeks not only to offer a diverse beer experience but also to build a community. Through events and interactions with breweries, subscribers can connect with like-minded enthusiasts, fostering and enhancing the vibrant craft beer community in Rhode Island.”
And once subscribers find their new fave brew, the Ocean State is small enough that it’s easy to motor over and see what else is on tap! Visit GetBrewBox.com for updates and to subscribe in the spring.
