What makes it a Rhody Gem?

Fun came to Rhode Island last November when the Stonington-based discount store expanded into Westerly from Connecticut. Frugal shoppers can enjoy finding everything from women’s clothing and accessories to spa goods, stationery, and home decor, along with toys, games, and puzzles – often 30-50 percent below retail prices – with inventory revolving daily. Owner Kyle Anderson’s secret sauce? “Long-standing relationships with companies who offer us their high-end first quality, overstocks, and closeouts. It’s like an outlet store and Nordstrom’s had a baby! Because we are Fun, we don’t mark these items up three or four times like other boutiques,” explains Anderson. Fun also offers parties where the host and at least eight friends can sip bubbly, shop, and experience even better discounts throughout the entire store.
