With two freshly revamped locations in Narragansett and Warwick, Iggy’s Doughboys and Chowder House is a summer favorite that’s easy to enjoy at any time of year. The food is all summer favorites: fried shrimp and scallops, stuffies, clam cakes and chowder, lobster rolls… and, of course, their signature doughboys. Wash it all down with one of Iggy’s homemade sodas. Iggy’s also sells mixes to take home with you.
The Narragansett restaurant is open seasonally, while the Warwick location serves shore fare year round. Maybe it’s just in our heads that fried seafood tastes better while you’re still in a bathing suit, sand and saltwater on your skin, straight from the beach. We’ll have to go back in the cold weather and find out.
On the Boardwalk
The newest entry into the Iggy’s family is Iggy’s Boardwalk a lobster and clam bar in Warwick. The restaurant serves everything from lobster dinners to pasta and steaks, with a killer cocktail menu to match. A must-try: the Iggy’s Sunsetter, with Kraken Black Spiced Rum, Malibu Coconut Rum, pineapple and orange juices, topped with hibiscus syrup. The outdoor patio has gorgeous views of Narragansett Bay and its own private shoreline.
