Spring in Rhode Island doesn’t need much to feel right. Just a little sun, a lighter jacket, and something cold in hand. Grey Sail Brewing gets that. As warmer days start to stick, the Westerly-based brewery, along with South County Distillers and Outer Light Brewing, is rolling out a seasonal lineup made for wherever the day takes you.
At the center is a collection of beers that feel bright, balanced, and easy to reach for. Nothing too heavy, nothing overworked, just flavors that make sense this time of year. Here’s what to sip this season:
Blueberry Break Wheat Ale Ripe blueberry leads, but it doesn’t overwhelm. It lands clean with a crisp, lightly citrusy finish that keeps each sip feeling fresh rather than sweet. Available in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York
Hazy Day Belgian-Style Wit Light-bodied and softly spiced, this one layers gentle wheat character with hints of orange peel and a touch of coriander. The finish is smooth, with just enough creaminess to round it out. Available in Rhode Island, Connecticut
Raspberry Reef Wheat Ale Bright raspberry comes through with a subtle tartness, balanced by a smooth, easy-drinking base. It’s refreshing without being sharp, with a clean finish that keeps it approachable.
Available in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York
Zero Knots Non-Alcoholic IPA Hop-forward and aromatic, with notes of citrus and a touch of pine, this non-alcoholic option keeps things crisp and balanced. It delivers the structure of an IPA without the weight. Available in Rhode Island, Connecticut
South County Distillers keeps things just as easy with canned cocktails that don’t feel like an afterthought. The mojito is back, with rum, lime, and mint that taste like they should. Basil limeade adds a fresh, slightly herbaceous twist, and the vodka lemonade mix pack covers all the bases with strawberry, blueberry, and classic lemon. It’s the kind of lineup that makes showing up with drinks feel effortless.
Just over the line in Connecticut, Outer Light Brewing is celebrating 11 years with the return of Hoppy Beerday, a peach mango IPA that leans juicy and smooth with just enough hop to keep it balanced. Ninja Trail Green Tea Pale Ale rounds things out with a lighter, crisp profile and a subtle green tea finish that feels especially right for spring.
