WSO - A Little Live Music: Mixed Chamber Groups

Posted by WSOMarketing

Throughout spring 2023 the diverse membership of the WSO is actively rehearsing as smaller ensembles to present a series of FREE outreach performances for our community. The Warwick Public Library – 600 Sandy Lane, Warwick will host premiere performances by these ensembles:

Sunday – April 23, 2023 @ 2:00pm: Featuring a string quartet, trumpet trio, woodwind quintet, and mixed string & woodwind trio, works include:

BRAHMS – Hungarian Dance No.4

GERSHWIN – Summertime

HANDEL – Entrance of the Queen of Sheba

BACH – Suscepit Israel

RONDEAU – Suite No.8 / At the Circus

BIZET – Habanera from “Carmen”

MOZART – Rondo

JENKINS – Fantasia for Three

SCHUBERT – Ballet Music from “Rosamunde”

All performances of the A Little Live Music program are free and open to the public. The Warwick Public Library is fully accessible and ADA compliant. WSO also welcomes families with members who find traditional classical concerts sensory-challenging; these events will involve lights on, smaller ensembles (less instruments = lesser volume), and all involved welcome immediate audience interaction. Families with small children are also encouraged to attend.

Overflow parking in the back sports lot.

Funding for the A Little Live Music program has been provided in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly, a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and private funders.
