April 18, 7pm. The Cranston Historical Society cordially invites you to a lively talk at Gov. Sprague Mansion Museum given by Drake Patten of Hurricane Hill Farm, Cranston. She will discuss the history of wool and its role in early America, its 20th century replacement with plastic-based textiles and its exciting current resurgence as a sustainable, renewable material for a climate change-conscious future. You’ll learn how raw fleece goes from the back of a sheep to your back.

Governor Sprague Mansion 1351 Cranston Street, Cranston / Free and Open to the Public. Parking and handicap entrance in the rear of the mansion.
