The Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boat Races & Taiwan Day Festival is an extraordinary FREE EVENT for the whole family to enjoy, and our 20th anniversary is going to be even bigger!!!
We've got 6 brand-new dragon boats handmade in Taiwan joining us this year, which will be exciting to watch and exciting to race in! All teams will race in these new smaller boats AND the classic big boats we've used for so many years.

These races continue to use the brightly-colored fiberglass Taiwanese-style dragon boats (now 12 boats) gifted to us from the Republic of China (Taiwan) and incorporate the skill of flag-catching in each race. The Rhode Island Chinese Dragon Boats races also offer large cash prizes to the winning teams!
But that’s not all…under our giant tent, the Taiwan Day Festival presents some top-notch entertainment! The day is filled with Taiwanese cultural performances, many family-friendly art & crafts tables, rides on Explorer River Tours, and our always-popular dumpling eating contest (men's & women's divisions this year)! The festival also has a great selection of vendors, interactive activities, the Narragansett Beer Garden, and food trucks!
