You say diva like it’s a bad thing... but in the immortal words of Miss Noxeema Jackson in Too Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar, “Your approval is neither desired nor required.” Unless, of course, you’re talking about which wines you like and don’t like at 1149’s monthly Wine Divas event.

Every month, divas-in-training gather at the East Greenwich restaurant for an evening of delicious food, fabulousness and wine appreciation. Local and national wine experts are guest experts for the night, and pair wines to the chef’s four-course dinner. Before each course, guests get a primer on the wine, including tasting notes. The event happens once a month, and sells out fast, so make sure to make a reservation. February’s Wine Divas takes place on February 4.
