Looking to welcome a new furry friend into your home? Adopt, don’t shop! Shelters around South County and across the state have dogs and cats ready to find their forever homes. Here are three pets ready to meet you, or reach out to the shelters to learn about even more adoptees.

If you have been thinking of adopting or if you know of an animal in need, please contact Karen Kalunian directly at animaltalk1920@gmail.com.

Sissy

This adorable girl is ready for all of life’s adventures. Sissy is a one-year-old Feist mix who has so much love to give. She’s great with kids, gets along with other friendly dogs, and adores belly rubs. The folks at Friends of Homeless Animals RI believe she may have a slight birth defect – she doesn’t put weight on one of her front paws – but don’t worry, it doesn’t slow her down!

Marbles

A five-year-old Tabby, Marbles has a stunning silver coat and is in search of a loving furr-ever home. She is a little shy when you first meet her but warms up quickly, and she would love to have another friendly feline friend in the household to pal around with. Playing, yummy treats, being brushed, and hanging out on her cat tree by the window are just a few of her favorite things.

Finn

Unique in both his looks and personality, Finn is a three-year-young Australian Cattle/Terrier mix who’s experienced a life of ups and downs. This homebody prefers spending time with his people in his own yard; the big outside world tends to spook Finn, so a fenced-in yard and a quiet life would be his dream. If you work from home and you’re seeking a constant companion, this good boy might be the one for you.
