A one-stop breakfast spot, Higher Grounds Community Coffeehouse offers the standard fare of coffee, espresso, chai tea, homemade baked goods, and breakfast sandwiches, but what you may not find in a typical cafe is the culture of positivity owners Keith and Jenn Frost seek to create once you’re inside.
Find the coffeehouse nestled off the road a bit, next to Lickety Splits on 39 Kingstown Road in scenic Richmond.
Greeted by their motto, “It gets better from here!” plastered above the menu, the coffeehouse has a homey, living room feel with guitars visitors are welcome to play and books to peruse at cozy lounge chairs. It’s a family-run business, and guests pick up on their neighborliness, praising the owners as “the sweetest people” who “genuinely care about your experience there.” Whether you’re stopping in for a cup of joe or one of a variety of muffins, bars, bagels, breakfast sammies, or other quick bites, you’d be remiss to make it a quick stop – stay and enjoy the atmosphere to soak in the full experience this coffeeshop has to offer.
