Celebrate MLK Day With the Family at the Providence Children’s Museum

As Martin Luther King, Jr. Day approaches, the Providence Children’s Museum (PCM) is gearing up to commemorate the Civil Rights movement with the play, MLK: Amazing Grace, on Monday, January 15.. This fun yet eye-opening performance is designed for all ages, and aims to shine a light on the work and life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Featuring renowned storytellers Rochel Coleman and Valerie Tutson in two separate live performances. 

PCM's executive director, Caroline Payson, expresses her enthusiasm for the event, stating, “These activities are a wonderful opportunity for all of us to learn, engage, and reflect. We are thrilled to introduce new audiences to Dr. King’s life story and engage with our creative community.” She emphasizes that this age-appropriate play allows children to perceive Dr. King’s journey through a child’s eyes, enabling them to incorporate his teachings into their lives. The overarching message is that everyone, regardless of age, can contribute to making the world a better place. It's a day dedicated to learning, thoughtful reflection, and fostering a sense of unity. Registration is required and can be completed online.
