The Best Native Plant Society in Rhode Island

Posted by riwildplandsociety

The Rhode Island Wild Plant Society’s, The Best Native Plant Sale in Rhode Island is Saturday, June 4th. We specialize in species from an area known as ecoregion 59 which includes all of Rhode Island, most of Connecticut and Massachusetts and sections of New York, New Hampshire and Maine. Plants within an ecoregion are accustomed to similar environmental conditions, share plant genetics and have coevolved with our local fauna. These plants are most suited to thrive in your garden and to attract and sustain the native birds, butterflies, bees and other pollinators that depend on them.

We make the shopping easy for you by having over 150 different species of perennials, grasses, ferns, shrubs and trees. all in one place - the URI Botanical Garden close to the URI Fine Arts Center. The URI Fine Arts Center offers ample parking, but smaller lots around the Botanical Garden will be open as well. Our knowledgeable experts will be on hand to offer advice and help you select the right plant for your landscape. The sale is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Rain or shine.

Bring a wagon (or maybe two!)

A plant list (close to the date of the sale), other resources to help you select the right plant for your landscape, & campus map www.riwps.org/native-plant-sales
