Founded in 2009, this one-stop yarn shop is stocked with colorful displays of skeins, balls, and hanks in a range of weights, fibers, and makers, along with needles, books, kits, buttons and notions, and supplies for felting.
Since 2017 the shop has been housed in an expanded space on Academy Cove – across the street from the town parking lot. Look for the aqua door underneath the black scalloped awning, and of course, the logo starring a mermaid.
Aside from designing a retail space that is well-organized and easy to navigate, owner Lizzie Shriner has created a welcoming environment staffed with like-minded knitting enthusiasts. “When you shop with us, you become part of our community of crafters,” begins Shriner, who opened the store to turn what she calls “her obsession with knitting into her life’s work.” Known for its classes and workshops, which needed to pause during COVID, Shriner hopes to resume hosting events soon. “We look forward to inviting everyone back to the class table once the pandemic is over. Crafting is such a comfort; our customers find solace in our space.”
