India Restaurant proudly proclaims, “We add spice to your life.” That is truly the restaurant’s mission, offering a unique take that goes beyond Indian food, mixing the flavors and spices of India with Western cooking techniques and the finest, seasonal, local ingredients. The menu at India incorporates refined New American cooking alongside classic Indian ingredients and recipes.

Located at the junction of Hope Street and Blackstone Boulevard, India is both a neighborhood favorite and a popular destination. The front patio offers views of beautiful Lippitt Park just across Hope Street, while the back patio (pictured at right) is a quiet retreat – and pet friendly. The bar is a relaxing and fun place to enjoy the nighttime scene, sipping one of the restaurants seasonal signature cocktails.

The menu is eclectic and forward-thinking. Fans of traditional India food will find all of their favorites, including a selection of curries ranging from mild to fiery hot, and fragrant biryanis (simmered rice dishes). But for those in search of something different, India offers inspired, modern takes that incorporate Western ideas and ingredients. Try the Grilled Basil and Portobella Naan Pizza or the Maryland Blue Crab Salad on a bed of spring greens with basil, blueberries and a ginger balsamic vinaigrette for a refreshing twist on what you’ve come to expect from Indian cuisine.

For those who want to explore a bit of everything, India also serves an all-inclusive brunch buffet on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am-3pm for only $13.95

Can't-Miss Dish: Peppered Duck in Tamarind Curry (pictured above): grilled tenderloins of duck simmered in tangy, sweet and spicy curry with figs and hazelnuts. Served with seasoned sweet potatoes or Basmati rice and kale cucumber salad
