Now-August 12: The Flickers’ Rhode Island International FIlm Festival returns for it’s 22nd year to showcase the best of the world’s independent cinematic talent right here in the ocean state.

August 10: For a classic - and classical - night of music, look no further than the Roger Williams Park Pops featuring the Rhode Island philharmonic orchestra. It all pops off at the park’s iconic Temple to Music. 

August 12: Help support the big dreams of small makers at Hope & Main, at the Schoolyard Twilight Party Fundraiser. Enjoy live music while sampling food from local chefs, restaurants, and food trucks, as well as local beer, wine, specialty cocktails, and more.


August 11: Raise a pint at Foolproof Brewing Company’s annual Augtoberfest, hosted in partnership with the Pawtucket Foundation. Enjoy an afternoon of live music, food trucks, an inflatable slip and slide, games, competitions, and of course, local brews. 

August 11: Lace up your sneakers for this year’s Mount Hope Bridge 5k. Walk, jog, or sprint your way across the historic bridge over Mount Hope Bay while raising money for the Bristol Rotary and partner charities.

August 11: Check out the Field of Artisans pop-up market and enjoy the handmade work of local artists and artisans, photographers, designers and a variety of vendors, at Marina Park in Wakefield.

August 11: Help support the Ocean Community YMCA by joining in on the fun at their Island Luau Party and enjoy deliciously local food, specialty cocktails, live music, dancing, and an auction on Heather Island on Ninigret Pond. Take a shuttle boat on over, or dock your boat on the island.

August 11: Take a stroll along the waterfront for The Looff – East Providence Art Festival to admire the work of local artists, including photography, metal works, and sculpture for “a whirlwind of art, music, and life.”

August 11-12: Head to Charlestown to witness the old recorded powwow in North America during the Narragansett Indian Tribe 343rd Annual August Meeting and Powwow, held at the Narragansett Indian Church. Enjoy a celebration of Narragansett culture, cuisine, music, artwork, books, and traditional Native American dancing.

August 13: Continue celebrating summer through Monday during Block Island Reggae Fest at Ballard’s Inn of Block Island. Dance from morning till night to the music of Giant Panda, Guerilla Dub Squad, Roots of Creation, and Spiritual Rez. If that’s not enough, stay for the after party with Mighty Mystic.
