2017 FALL SERIES- Shifting Colors of Season and Song

This October, the WSO will explore the amazing colors of the orchestra as imagined by the Romanticists Mendelssohn, Elgar, and Dvorak. The concert will open with a feature for our wind & brass sections-- the exciting “Overture for Winds” by Felix Mendelssohn. We continue with a selection featuring our strings with Edward Elgar’s “String Serenade”- movement 2. The entire orchestra will reassemble for a complete performance of the beloved “Symphony No. 8 in G” by Antonin Dvorak.
