Hold the Water, Dry Cut

Business Focus: Arous Studio

Posted

Arous Studio is not a salon; it’s a spacious sanctuary occupied by hair stylists that rise to the level of artists, including owner Arous Parker herself. The shear-savvy proprietress mastered and continues to teach the Sahag method of dry cutting, a technique which works with your natural texture and shape to customize a cut.

“Dry cutting is different in that the stylist is trained to follow the natural contours of your hair, so each cut is literally unique to each client,” says Arous. “The hair grows in more naturally and is easier to style at home.” This means fewer salon visits between touch- ups – though you might find it hard to resist stopping in for a color refresh, brow service, or to pick up the studio’s most recently popular product: Their own lightly scented lavender spray sanitizer.

While the studio is Arous’ dream-turned-reality, she surrounds herself with equally talented artists that love making people feel beautiful in the chair. Adds Arous, “We welcome creative, humble, and hungry stylists.”
