November 24–26: Rock out to hometown heroes Deer Tick, who will be in Providence for three shows over Thanksgiving weekend: Friday night at The Columbus Theatre and Saturday and Sunday at The Met.
November 24: If you need a few laughs after surviving Thanksgiving, get to Wage House in Pawtucket for Black Friday the Musical, an improvised musical comedy that is sure to renew some of that holiday cheer.
November 24: Ring in the holiday season with
Santa’s Arrival in Westerly. The streets of downtown will be adorned with luminaria and holiday decorations, and there will be hayrides and caroling before the main event: the Jolly Old Elf himself.
November 24: Usher in the holiday season at the
Bowen’s Wharf Block Party in Newport. An illuminated boat parade will light up Newport Harbor – with a competition for most festive boat – and steel drums will create a Caribbean Christmas vibe while you shop all the sales.
November 25: AS220 hosts the
11th annual Short Short Story Film Festival. Seventeen live-action and animated short films from all over the globe will be presented, with audience members voting for their favorites.
November 25: Didn’t get out for that run on Thanksgiving morning? Work off that huge Thanksgiving meal you just ate at the
Trot Off Your Turkey 5k in Barrington and the
East Greenwich Hill and Harbor Turkey Trot.
