Support the Beach

The post-Sandy recovery continues in Misquamicut

Posted

Looking for a fun, affordable way to enjoy an evening out filled with great food, music and a chance to win fabulous prizes, all the while supporting the Misquamicut Beach recovery? Then come out to the Venice Ballroom in Westerly to experience all of these things and more. The Misquamicut Business Association will be hosting its Eighth Annual Aloha Luau on Friday, February 1 at 6:30pm. Over 20 local restaurants will be in attendance providing food ranging from Asian to American as well as a pig roast. After filling up on the food of your choice, get ready for the silent auction, featuring outstanding items for people to bid on, such as dinners, a timeshare, day trips, concert tickets, artwork, gift baskets, a stay in Florida and more. Musicians Justin Harris and the Mercy Bullets will be playing throughout the night, so be prepared to bring your moves onto the dance floor after hopefully winning an item from the auction. Proceeds from the event will go towards supporting family activities held each summer at Misquamicut Beach, which includes fireworks, concerts, festivals, car shows, as well as the road crew in charge of cleaning the streets and taking on beautification projects. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Big Kahuna tables are available for $250, with guaranteed reserved seating and acknowledgement in the program. 165 Shore Road, Westerly. 322-1026, misquamicut2000@gmail.com.
