George’s of Galilee Celebrates 70 Years

Posted

Platinum is the traditional gift for a 70th anniversary, but George’s of Galilee is celebrating in a different – and more delicious – way. The venerable Point Judith restaurant is offering their original 1948 prices on George’s favorites, like clam cakes ($0.50 for a half dozen) and chowder ($0.25 for a cup and $0.50 for a bowl), $4 fish and chips, $4 lobster roll, $5 fried clams and a $6 seafood platter. The restaurant is also planning some other big events, like a Winter Wine Dinner on January 19 and a Customer Appreciation Day on January 28, with live music, free snacks and an open bar on the Covered Deck from 1pm to 5pm.
