Seeing the Light

History comes alive at Mystic Seaport

Posted

Entering its 33rd season from December 1-27, the Lantern Light Tours at Mystic Seaport has become a local holiday tradition. Bringing audiences back to Christmas Eve in 1876, this year’s production centers on the legend of St. Nicholas as the Patron Saint of sailors, thieves and young women seeking marriage. Each performance is a 70-minute walking tour through the 19th century village where visitors stop at designated locations to watch the story unfold. Enjoy a tale of lost love, temptation and Christmas miracles; tours begin at 5pm and leave every 15 minutes. Group sizes are very limited, so reserve your tickets in advance. $21-30. 5-8:30pm. 860-572-5331, 75 Greenmanville Avenue, Mystic, Connecticut
