Thanksgiving dinner is about family and tradition, especially culinary tradition. (Two years ago I tried serving a gratin of Yukon gold potatoes and mushrooms in place of mashed potatoes and my aunt practically disowned me. Lesson learned. I’m still searching for the thing that’s going to get me kicked out for good.)
If you can’t wait until the day itself to get a taste of the fall’s bounty, head to the Weekapaug Inn’s Cooking Through the Seasons: Holiday Traditions on November 19.
At the dinner, the inn’s executive chef creates a three-course family-style dinner with wine pairings, focusing on fresh, local, seasonal bounty. Weekapaug is the little sister to the glamorous Ocean House, which means you’re getting all of the deliciousness without all of the fanfare. 25 Spray Rock Road, Weekapaug, Westerly. 888-813-7862
