One Night in Narragansett

A midweek deal at the The Break Hotel is a perfect getaway for two

Posted

The name of the deal is Wine, Dine, and Doze Wednesdays, and if you happen to be free for two consecutive weekdays, it’s an incredible bargain: The Break Hotel is one of the most recognizable hotels in South County, a stone’s throw from the coast. Describing itself as “surfer chic,” The Break still offers luxurious rooms all winter, when the rest of Narragansett goes quiet and only a handful of surfers dot the ice-crusted beach.

Many couples would jump at a $200 getaway, but the package goes well beyond accommodations. You are also admitted to Wine Wednesdays, a tasting with paired hors d’oeuvres, and receive an $85 credit to your meal at Chair 5, the hotel’s acclaimed restaurant. And as if that weren’t enough, you can order a bottle of wine with your dinner for half-off.

While there are some holiday conflicts and blackout periods, the deal is good for most Wednesday stays between now and March 31 of next year. This is a pretty chill time for Narragansett – in every sense of the word – but guests with spare cash may also take advantage of the hotel spa, natural gas fireplaces, and a covered rooftop lounge for seasonal cocktails and coastal views. Narragansett may be quieter this time of year, but for a little solitude (and off-season discounts), this is a hard deal to beat. Narragansett
