Matunuck Oyster Bar’s Summer Celebration

Posted

On August 21 and 22, Matunuck Oyster Bar is hosting a farm dinner series as part of Eat Drink RI’s 2017 Land and Sea Culinary Experiences. Starting at 3pm each day, Matunuck Oyster Bar owner Perry Raso will bring folks out on Potter Pond for an intimate boat tour of his seven-acre shellfish farm. The farm itself provides the restaurant with a rich array of locally raised oysters and clams. During the tour, there will be a raw bar available on the skiff with shellfish plucked right out of the water.

After disembarking, guests will be treated to a four-course dinner paired with wine and beer at the adjacent organic vegetable farm overlooking the pond. On August 21, chef Rick Allaire from Warren’s Metacom Kitchen will be preparing the dinner and on August 22, chef Derek Wagner from Providence’s Nick’s on Broadway will take the helm. It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate summer’s bounty and to get a closer look at where the restaurant’s food comes from.
