An East Greenwich home goods boutique showcases lots of “local” wares

Posted

The next time you parade down Main Street, be sure and stop in at David–Max, a trendy, affordable home goods and artist boutique located in the heart of downtown East Greenwich.

This spacious, inviting store offers an easy-breezy shopping atmosphere with exquisite finds to fancy up your home, decorate yourself with, give as amazing hostess or shower gifts and even carries delightful items with which you can pamper your special pet pals.

Owner Courtney Grady-Calcione opened her eclectic boutique in April 2013 and carries a diverse inventory based on her passion of enjoying fabulous, hip design for both the home and for personal wares at a very local level. “I’m a self-made designer thanks to the foundation my parents gave me growing up in the world of refurbishing an old home and spending many weekends antiquing. David–Max is all about showcasing local, talented artisans that continually deliver unique products that customers can easily afford to pick up for themselves or to spoil others with as gifts,” she says glowingly.

David–Max offers a bright and airy, family-friendly layout so busy moms with strollers can easily navigate their shopping experience without the hassle of constricted aisles of merchandise. You’ll discover an exciting array of items such as decorative accents and useful accessories for the home, striking furniture pieces, antiques, popular Rhode Island posters – matted and framed – luscious soy candles, handcrafted jewelry and handbags, stunning embroidered boots available in all popular women’s sizes, hand-crocheted table linens, luxurious hand-loomed throws, artsy unisex belt buckles, nostalgic artwork and photography, adorable note card and stationery sets, whimsical mirrors and wall hangings and sweet baby items you won’t find anywhere else.

You will find something for everyone on your holiday gift list here at David–Max and because the prices truly are mind blowing – you’ll even be able to treat yourself to a funky, cozy scarf or a cute and flirty apron to pretty yourself up with while your baking those gingerbread cookies.

Convenience is also important to this innovative shop owner. “I know how busy people are these days so David–Max is always open until 7pm, sometimes later, for folks who can’t do their shopping until after work or after they get their families settled at the end of the day,” Calcione invites.

A few of the many creative artists that bring their one-of-a kind inventory to this cutting edge East Greenwich marketplace are Sophiez Soap – all-natural soaps for sensitive and dry skin; Gilmore Creations – cool magnets and ceramic pieces; Betty Lee Arts – nature inspired paintings; Delites by Donna – all things unbelievably chocolate; Papers and Pins – incredible paper lanterns and mobiles that will liven up any space; Homestead Tables – a collection of extraordinary, repurposed tables; Oliveira Textiles – featuring an “Ocean Collection” of sustainable organic fibers; and ZekeStringer Jewelry – a collection of earth and sparkle pieces that beg to be stacked, layered or just treasured as a single statement piece.

David–Max believes that change is good, therefore fresh, new merchandise arrives weekly and is featured online even before it arrives to the store. A new artisan is featured each month and invited into the store to mix it up with customers and even provide demonstrations of how they bring their muse to fruition.

If you’re looking to evoke some joy, glitz and merriment into your gift giving this holiday season without breaking the bank, David–Max can definitely deliver.
