“I love creating great spaces and finding the ‘perfect’ color,” explains Jean Hauser, resident interior designer for The Color House. Whether she’s asked to do a one-hour color consultation to offer advice on a client’s own paint choices, or to start from scratch in a new home, Jean is an expert in creating spaces that feel like home. “I like mixing contemporary and traditional,” she says. “I don’t like a lot of clutter, but I like details and small things that make a room pop.”

This year, Jean is launching the Color House’s blog. “It will have everything to do about color, paint, window treatment and design,” she says. She’s also starting the Color Club, which is an e-newsletter full of discounts and design advice. Jean graduated from URI with degrees in Fashion Merchandising and Spanish, and worked in visual merchandising before returning to RISD for Interior Design. After that, she started offering her design services at her husband’s family business, The Color House. That was 20 years, and many satisfied clients ago. “I recently finished a year-long job with clients who lost almost everything in a house fire,” Jean says. “It was very rewarding to help them create their new space.”
