James Keelaghan and Jez Lowe in Concert

Posted by alank1

Canada’s James Keelaghan and England’s Jez Lowe combine their considerable talents to bring their masterful songs to the Music in the Gallery concert series.

James Keelaghan is the poet laureate of the folk and roots music world. He has gone about his work with a combination of passion, intent and intensity, and curiosity. He is one of Canada's international stars and his passionate mix of roots rock, Americana, and contemporary folk has established Keelaghan's presence in Europe, Australia, and North America. One of his songs "Cold Missouri Waters" was covered by Cry Cry Cry (Lucy Kaplansky, Dar Williams, Richard Shindell) on their 1998 self-titled release.

Jez Lowe has built an enviable reputation as a songwriter and performer in the world of acoustic music, and as a recognized musical ambassador for his native North East England, with more than a dozen albums and countless live performances around the world over the last twenty years. He has performed at some of the most prestigious venues in the world including The Kennedy Center and the Smithsonian.
