"Places: Familiar and Far Away" captures feelings of calm and color

Posted

Award-winning artist Regina Partridge of Providence and Westerly, will be showcasing works in monotype, pastel and oil painting from private collections, the artist’s personal collection, and new work of her own in July. The exhibition, known as “Places: Familiar and Far Away,” will be held at the Hoxie Gallery in Westerly.

Partridge released a statement, explaining the exhibition: “From the morning mist of Glacier bay in Alaska to the tranquil dawn of a Tuscan countryside, from the British Virgin Islands to the Westerly shores to ski trails in New Hampshire, these works evoke memories of moments of pleasure. Capturing these feelings of calm and color in print, paint and pastel has been a life-long pursuit.”

An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, July 2, from 5pm to 7pm. The exhibition will run from July 2 through July 31 at the Hoxie Gallery on 44 Broad Street in Westerly.
