The folks at URE let you try before you buy

Posted

Whatever your favorite activity – whether it’s a relaxing paddle, a challenging hike, camping deep in the woods, or all of the above, the folks at URE Outfitters have you covered. The eponymous Ure family of outdoor enthusiasts have been providing expert advice and guidance to customers for 35 years.

“There is a mile-long pond behind the shop, so you can test drive the kayaks and canoes to find the right fit,” says Jon Ure. “That’s the advantage over buying online. We’ll make sure your gear fits you and your goals.” And if there is a special item they don’t carry, they will find it and have it shipped to the store for free.

Camping essentials, field guides, fishing accessories, kids’ gear, and more fill the 14,000 square foot store. Shoppers will find a great selection of shoes and boots, as well as casual clothing and activewear. There are also handmade bird houses and walking sticks, duck calls, custom knives, and rock climbing equipment.

Whether novice or pro, the staff at URE will lead you to the proper footwear, clothing, and supplies for your next adventure. “Day hiking is having a huge resurgence,” says Ure. “It’s minimal gear – a good pair of boots and day pack is all you need.”
