So Delicious

Matunuck's Secret Bakery

Posted

Tucked away on a quiet road en route to the beaches in Matunuck is a tiny shop called Daddy’s Bread. This local gem has been around since 1975 in a hidden little space offering handmade, vegan-friendly artisanal breads (only one variety – the legendary Parmesan, Dill, Garlic, otherwise known as PDG – is non-vegan). They have countless varieties that you won’t find anywhere else, all made with love and baked fresh daily. To get your hands on these loaves, stop by when the “open” flag is flying to scoop up yours. They operate on the honor system, and the bakers come and go in the early morning hours, so it feels like a secret treasure that only you (and all the fans in their guestbook) know about. They’re open seven days a week – but the best loaves (like Apple Cinnamon) go fast, so be sure to get there early.
