Blooming Hope: Casting Light on Domestic Violence

Posted by SteveBVAC

On the evening of Thursday, October 18, 2018, our agency will be holding our first ever, "Blooming Hope: Casting Light on Domestic Violence" fundraising event at the Roger Williams Botanical Gardens, from 6-8:30 PM in Providence, RI. The event will include a cocktail party, with a silent auction. Our goal is to make this event uplifting and inspiring, while raising awareness about domestic violence.

100% of the money raised go directly to our clients. Depending on the amount raised, we could pay the rent for several survivor's (we don't like the call them victims) for two years. We have a program where we pay rent for up to two years so that they have time to get on their feet.

This money would also help our shelter. We currently have 23 beds at our shelter, all of which are occupied. Raising this money would also help the children in our shelter by helping to provide them with "normal" amenities. They've already seen and lived so much, we want to help give them better lives while they are with us.

Lastly, the funds raised would help to expand our education to the community. Teaching young adults what healthy relationships are is extremely important for prevention.
