WBRU April Fools’ Bash!

Fools! at the Stadium Theatre
On the flip side, are you looking for a comical celebration of the silliness of April Fools’ Day? If so, you might enjoy Fools!, a comedy written by Neil Simon, winner of four Tony Awards including Best Playwright. The show follows the character of Leon, who receives a job teaching in a Russian hamlet. Orlando Baxter at the Comedy Connection
To continue your celebration of jokes and comedy throughout the weekend, comedian Orlando Baxter will be performing at the Comedy Connection in East Providence. Baxter was a finalist in NBC’s “Stand up For Diversity” showcase as well as the Boston Comedy Festival. Baxter was also a finalist in the prestigious, Montreux Comedy festival in Switzerland, meaning that his presence in East Providence is sure to have you rolling. Providence Bruins vs. Hershey Bears
This weekend there will be two bouts between the Providence Bruins and Pennsylvania’s Hershey Bears at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. Both of these games are also opportunities to save on great seats. Saturday’s game is a $5 off game, meaning you can save $5 when you purchase tickets from the Dunkin’ Donuts Center website. Yesterday – A Tribute to the Beatles
Yesterday – A Tribute to the Beatles has toured across five continents. This tribute to the Beatles has also been featured in Rolling Stone, Showbiz Magazine, on NBC, CBS and ABC. Harbor Seal Walk at Rome Point
Sometimes you just need to relax and take a walk. What better opportunity to do so this weekend than with the Harbor Seal Walk at Rome Point? You can join Audubon naturalist Laura Carberry for a walk that has been timed to coincide with low tide, that way you can possibly see a hundred seals or more. The walk goes on for about a mile, and the Audubon Society of Rhode Island recommends that you bring good walking shoes, warm clothes and perhaps a set of binoculars. Saturday. $10-$14. John H. Brunch and Music at the Narrows Center for the Arts

The Final Cut Film Premiere
This weekend, Salve Studios, Salve Regina University’s student film and video production club, will be premiering its first-ever film, The Final Cut. This screening is part of Salve’s annual SRyou Student Exposition, and free concessions will be served along with the film. DeBlois Gallery April Show
The DeBlois Gallery April Show starts this Saturday. The Gallery features new works every month, and this month will feature the incredible paintings of Michael O’Donnell, photography by Dan McManus and the ceramic sculptures of Tiffany Adams. The gallery exhibits are entirely free, so there’s no reason to avoid coming down to Middletown to see the amazing work of local artists and to support this local gallery. Saturday.
