This weekend, Cable Car Cinema & Café will be showing the 2016 Oscar Nominated Short Films. The two categories, animation and live action, have showings multiple times throughout the weekend and into next week. Cable Car is also showing the film Anomalisa, nominated for a 2016 Oscar for best animated feature film. The film is directed by Charlie Kaufman and Duke Johnson, and stars David Thewlis and Jennifer Jason Leigh. The Hunchback of Seville at Trinity Rep
The show The Hunchback of Seville is being performed at the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, and there are performances throughout the weekend. The show takes place in the 16th century and follows Maxima Terriblé Segunda, the adopted sister of Queen Isabella, navigating through a web of prejudice, politics and religion in a world of colonialism.
